First, Aryan Dutt born on 12 May
2003 an Indian Dutch
cricketer is a right-arm off-spin bowler. Born in The Hague and raised in
Amsterdam, his father hails from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.
Second, Teja Nidamanuru was born on 22
August 1994 in Vijayawada, India, He has been a key player for the Dutch
team in the ongoing World Cup, showcasing his cricketing talent and
representing his heritage on the global stage. Teja made invaluable 52 runs
against India in their group match during ICC Cricket world cup, 2023.
And third, Hailing from Cheema Khurd, Punjab, India, Vikramjit
Singh was born on 9 January 2003 into a Sikh family. His grandfather Khushi Cheema fled to the
Netherlands following the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and initially worked as a taxi driver before
establishing a transport company in Amstelveen. The family moved back and forth between the
Netherlands and India over the following decades, before settling permanently
in the Netherlands when Singh was seven years old.
Now the South African players,
First, Tabraiz Shamsi. he was born in South Africa on 18 February 1990, but
his ancestors have Indian origins. He was a very prized player of Rajasthan
Royals IPL team of 2021
And second player is South African spinner Keshav
Maharaj. He was born on 7 February 1990 in
Durban, to parents Athmanand
Maharaj and Kanchan Mala. Maharaj’s Indian roots run deep, with his great-grandfather
originating from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, and migrating to Durban as an
indentured labourer in 1874. Keshav recently guided South Africa to a thrilling
victory over Pakistan in an intense match of the ODI World Cup 2023.
Now the New Zealand players:
First, A star all-rounder for New Zealand, Ish Sodhi is of Indian Punjabi descent. Born in Ludhiana, India,
to a Sikh family, Sodhi’s grandparents hail from Lahore in pre-partition
Pakistan. At the age of four, he moved to New Zealand, with his family. His
contributions with both bat and ball have made him a valuable asset to the Kiwi
team.
And secondly, the very talented, Rachin Ravindra.
Born in Wellington to parents of Indian New Zealander origin, Rachin Ravindra‘s father was a club-level cricketer in Bengaluru before
relocating to New Zealand in 1997. It’s also worth noting that Rachin’s name is
a fusion of two legendary Indian cricketers – Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. Rachin has set the ODI World Cup 2023 on fire with his
impressive batting performances.
In the opening match against England, batting at no. 3 in place of Williamson, he
became only the fourth Kiwi player to hit a century on World Cup debut by
scoring 123* runs off just 96 balls. It was also coincidentally his maiden ODI
century
On 28 October 2023, during
a group stage match against Australia, Rachin scored his second century and
gave New Zealand a glimmer of hope in a high scoring runchase of 389 at
Dharamsala which New Zealand agonisingly lost by 5 runs
He became only the second batter in World Cup history after Sachin Tendulkar to have scored 2 centuries in World Cups at the age of 23.
On 4 November 2023, during
a group stage match against Pakistan, Rachin Ravindra became the second
youngest batter after Sachin Tendulkar in the ODI World Cup history to complete 500
runs
He also broke Tendulkar's
record of most World Cup centuries before the age of 24 years when he completed
his century against Pakistan
He also became the
first batter in World Cup history to score three centuries on World Cup debut.
He also surpassed
Tendulkar's record for having scored the most runs in a single edition of the
World Cup before turning 25 with a tally of 550 runs in 9 matches.
