Maxwell's Marvelous Match: A Testament to Overcoming Adversity

If someone says that I am tired, I am sick, my hand is hurting, my leg is hurting, then let him say with love "Let like Maxwell, your subconscious energy spread in you" such a wonderful game was played in Mumbai on 7th November.

This is a record that no batsman has ever scored so many runs batting second.  But more importantly, six times he fell on the pitch directly due to the severe pain of cramps in the legs.  He was advised to go back for a while, but he was also told that you will not be able to play at the same speed after coming back.  There was
a chance to go back but he knew that if he goes back, he can spoil the whole
innings. It was a joke. But what about Maxwell? The energy that was infused in
him at that time, that our subconscious mind is the evolution of extraordinary performances of the human beings and the limit of their capabilities.
Maxwell came in at a time when Australia's score was 91 for seven and the target was 201. His main objective was to sail Australia through to the semi-finals. Had he got out, there would have been no batsman. After giving him out lbw for the first time on his struggling 33 runs, he asked for the opinion of the third umpire on his instinct, he was declared not out. This moment will be the first time Maxwell has given a smile to anyone who has seen it. Perhaps he knew he had his instincts with him and this is where the "chemical locha" happened. That's when he decided to take the pressure off the Afghan bowlers and play freely, to take his country out of the humiliation, to win like a world champion. So much so that Star Sports did not show any advertisement during the next 3-4 overs. The whole world must have felt his pain and grit at the same time. And when he fell on ground out of severe pain, the stadium was stunned for a moment, but then the Maxwell-Maxwell chants began, just as you would have heard Sachin-Sachin.
Maxwell not only stood back, on his one foot, he went on to hit 21 fours and 10 sixes. He scored 201. Due to the pain in his leg, he could not run for one or two runs. And by hitting a six off the last ball, he not only qualified for the semi-finals of his country, i.e. Australia, but also set many records.

1) The remarkable performance on November 7 also set the record for the highest individual score in an ODI chase, surpassing Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman's 193 against South Africa in 2021.
2) Moreover, Maxwell's double century surpassed Charles Coventry's 194 against Bangladesh in 2009, making Maxwell's 7 November score the highest ever.
3) Maxwell's score on November 7 was the highest ever by a non-opener in the history of ODI cricket.
4) India's Ishan Kishan made the record of the fastest double century in just 126 balls against Bangladesh last year. Maxwell reached his double century off just 128 balls. This is the second-fastest double century in ODI history.
5) Maxwell's proficiency in hitting sixes was seen in this match with ten sixes. This impressive performance took his total number of sixes in his World Cup career to 33, cementing his place as the third-highest six-hitter in the World Cup, behind India captain Rohit Sharma (45) and legendary West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle (49).
6) 202-run partnership with captain Pat Cummins - the highest partnership for the eighth wicket in ODI history.
7) But beware of the calls ahead.  He was supported by Cummins.  He scored only 14 runs in 48 balls, obviously it was important, because if someone was deposed there, he could not have played alone.
Maxwell's excellent performance can be said to be the same, but more importantly, Murphy's theory was once again highlighted that if a man decides in any situation, then you can achieve a very good goal and for this, the sky and the abyss also bow down to you. The same thing happened here, Maxwell got the gift of life not once, not twice but thrice.
Those who have won this game of human minds will be remembered for decades to come. Kapil Dev played a similar game in the 1983 World Cup. He scored 175 runs which enabled India to win the World Cup by defeating the mighty West Indies from 5-17 to 8-266. This achievement is remembered with love and appreciation even today and will be remembered for centuries to come.

What can we learn from this match?

·         Never give up in any situation.

·         Work hard and strive to achieve your dreams.

·         Always be ready to face challenges.

We should all take inspiration from this match and work hard to succeed in our lives.
