Combined Defense service exam is held twice in a year, Once in APRIL i.e CDS1 and CDS 2 in October.

CDS 2 2016 Eligibility Criteria
Are you appearing for CDS 2 2016? So, you are required to meet with following eligibility criteria. Without meeting the following criteria, you are not allowed to apply for the test. Thus, we advise candidates to carefully go through the below specified criteria in order to apply for CDS 2. According to the schedule released by UPSC, CDS II 2016 is going to be organized on 23rd October, 2016 and its notification will be available from 16th July, 2016 onwards.
Marital Status, Sex, Age Limit- For IMA and Indian Naval Academy: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the test. Candidates should not be born before 2nd July, 1993 and after 1st July, 1998 can apply.
- For Air Force Academy: Candidates should not be born before 02 July, 1993 and after 01 July, 1997. Candidates those have valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence provided by DGCA (India), they should not be born before 02 July, 1991 and after 01 July 1997.
*Candidates whose age is less than 25 years should not be married and they can’t get married during training.
* Married candidates above 25 years of age may apply but no marriage accommodation will be provided to them during training period. They are also not allowed to live with their family outside.- For Officers’ Training Academy- (SSC Course for Men): Married or Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply but they should not be born before 2nd July, 1992 and after 1st July, 1998.
- For Officers, Training Academy – (SSC Women Non-Technical Course): Issueless widows who have not remarried, Unmarried Women and issueless divorcees who are not remarried may proceed to apply for the test. Talking about the age criteria, they should not be born before 2nd July, 1992 and after 1st July, 1998.
Note: Male divorcee and widower applicants won’t be considered as unmarried male and thus they are restricted to get admission to INA/IMA/AFA programmes.
Minimum Educational Qualification
For IMA and Officers’ Training Academy: Hold degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
For Indian Naval Academy: Hold degree in Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
For Air Force Academy: Hold degree of recognized university and studied Physics and Mathematics either 10+2 level or in bachelor of engineering.
*Final year candidates are considered are eligible to apply for the test, subject to produce necessary certificate on or before the specified deadline.
Physical Standards
Candidates should be physically fit according to physical standard of conducting authority.
CDS 1 & CDS II 2016 eligibility criteria:
CDS 1 2016 age limit: Interested candidates must be between the ages of 20 to 24 years for (IMA) and 25 years for (Officer Training Academy). Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
CDS 1 2016 educational qualification: For the posts in OTA and IMA interested candidates must holds Degree of a recognized university/correspondent
For Indian Naval Academy posts; candidates must holds Degree in engineering programme from an acknowledged university.
For Air Force Academy posts; candidates must holds Degree of a recognized university with Math and Physics at 12th Level.
Physical eligibility: aspirants must be physically strong according to physical standards for admission to CDS 1 (Combined Defense Services Examination 1) as per guidelines.
CDS 1 2016 Important Dates:
Releasing date of CDS I 2016 Notification: 7th, November 2015.
Final Date of Receipt of Applications: 4th, December 2015
CDS I 2016 Admit cards download date: – January to February 2016
Exam Date of CDS I 2016: 14th February 2016.
Result Date of CDS I 2016: May 2016
CDS II 2016 Important Dates:
Releasing date of CDS II 2016 Notification: 16th July, 2016.
Final Date of Receipt of Applications: 12th August 2016

CDS (I & II) 2016 Application Process
Eligible Candidates must have to go through the official website link i.e. ‘www.upsconline.nic.in’ to apply CDS 1 2016 online on or before final date of submission. Candidates are requested to complete part 1 very carefully along uploading your photograph and signature in required format. After completing part 1 proceed for part 2 to make payment. The application fee of CDS 1 can be sent either Online or Offline in any SBI branch. Take the printout of Application form for further reference.
CDS (I & II) 2016 Application Fee:
Interested and eligible candidates have to pay application fee of Rs.200/ (General and OBC category)
There is no fee for SC/ST and Female candidates.
CDS (I & II) 2016 Selection Process:-
Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of written exam.
Then shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB (Service Selection Board).
CDS (I & II) 2016 Written Exam Pattern/duration for IMA, INA and AFA:

CDS (1 & 2) 2016 Admit Card
Eligible candidates who have successfully submitted their application will be able to download the admit card from the official website of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsc.gov.in/. Admit card of CDS 1 and CDS 2 2016 will re release in the last week of January, 2016.
CDS (1 & 2) 2016 Result
For final selection candidates will have to go through two parts of the examinations i.e. written exam and Intelligence and Personality Test. Result of both parts will be available at the official website of UPSC.
CDS (1 & 2) 2016 Answer Key
Candidates will be able to view CDS (1 & 2) answer key within or after one week of the completion of the exam. Official answer key will be released at the official website of UPSC.
