Details of CAPF (AC) 2019 Exam

The Union Public Service Commission conducts written examination for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).


  • CPF Exam Eligibility

    • Age eligibility: Minimum 20 years & Maximum 25 years as on 1st August of the exam year

    • Academic eligibility: A degree from a recognised University or equivalent. Also those appearing in the degree examination are allowed to appear at the examination, but are required to submit proof of passing along with the detailed application forms which are to be submitted after qualifying the written test, medical standards test and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)

    • Physical Standards eligibility: You need to have minimum Physical Standards as given in the notificatio

    • Female candidates can not apply for BSF and ITBP

    Schedule for UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2019




    CAPF AC 2019 examination has been scheduled to be held in 2019 by UPSC and with only one day duration.


    Pattern for UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2019



    There will be two papers in the CAPF AC examination 2019 notified by UPSC.


    Paper I – General Ability & Intelligence (Objective type questions)


    Paper I will be of 2 hours duration containing 125 MCQs carrying 250 marks. This paper will be bilingual (both in Hindi & English) carrying equal marks for each question.


    Paper II – General Studies, Essay & Comprehension (Descriptive type questions)


    Paper II will be of 3 hours duration containing 7 descriptive questions carrying 200 marks.


    In Objective type Paper I there will be a negative marking for every wrong answer.




    • There will be four options for every question and candidates have to choose the correct one. For every wrong answer given by the candidate, 1/3rd marks will be deducted as a penalty by the UPSC.

    • If a candidate marks two options for a single question, it will be considered as wrong answer and 1/3 penalty will be deducted even if any one of the chosen option is correct.

    • If a candidate does not answer any question and leave it blank, there will not be any penalty marked for that question.



    UPSC CAPF AC 2019 Exam Results



    The results for UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2019 will be declared probably in January 2019.


    The appeared candidates will then be informed about the date, time and venue for the PET (Physical Efficiency Test) and Medical Standard Test to be conducted.


    UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2019 PI and Final Results



    The appeared candidates in the written examination at phase I will be invited for phase II of personal interview (mostly to be schedule in the month of March or April 2019). The UPSC will prepare a final merit list based on communities of General/SC/ST/OBC.


    The UPSC will declare a combined merit list for final results without community of the applicants for the appointment in the capacity of Assistant Commandants (Group A), in Central Armed Forces/ Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).


    UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2015 Score Cards



    The score card will be revealed in the official website of UPSC within 15 days of the publication of final results (once the personality test is conducted) and will be available there about 2 months.
